Window controls
Keep the way you work. Make moving a window a little easier.
Start anywhere.
⌥ Option + left drag
Grab inside a supported window and move it without hunting for its title bar. The window follows the point where you started.
Make room.
⌥ Option + right drag
The starting region chooses the edges to resize. Begin near a corner to adjust two sides, or near an edge for the corresponding direction. Some apps restrict window sizes.
Fill. Then return.
⌥ Option + left double-click
Fill the usable desktop, preserving the menu bar and Dock. Repeat to restore the previous frame. This does not create a fullscreen Space.
A few controls. Your choice.
- Five mouse buttons
- Choose a modifier and assign Move, Resize, Minimize, Maximize, Close or Nothing. These are shared bindings, not independent mouse and trackpad profiles.
- Pause & exclusions
- Pause from the menu bar or leave selected apps out of window gestures. Normal interactions remain yours.
- Snap & cancel
- Side snapping can arrange a window at the left or right edge. Press Esc during a drag to restore its starting frame. The top edge does not auto-maximize.
- Background by design
- Closing Settings leaves OptionDrag running in the menu bar. Its Dock icon returns when a main app window opens. Launch at Login is optional.
Mouse or trackpad?
A trackpad primary click-and-drag can use the same Move binding. Continuous secondary dragging depends on the trackpad’s existing configuration; a two-finger tap or scroll is not a resize shortcut.
Quick Guide in the app explains the current bindings and offers a local practice area. The website demo shows defaults, not your live settings.
